3SS teams up with Škoda to enhance in-car entertainment

0

Video technology provider 3 Screen Solutions has entered a partnership with Škoda Auto to develop a new in-car entertainment experience based on its 3Ready Automotive platform.

The collaboration powers Škoda Play, a centralised content hub that aggregates video from multiple sources and adapts it to both the vehicle and the user. The service provides a mix of news, educational material and themed video content, delivered either via livestream or on-demand formats.

Beyond entertainment, the platform also allows Škoda to distribute branded content directly to drivers and passengers, including service tutorials, product updates and promotional material. Built-in management tools and analytics enable the automaker to oversee content performance and tailor the experience to individual vehicles and audiences.

The system is designed to work across several operating environments, including Linux, AOSP and Android Automotive OS, ensuring compatibility with different infotainment architectures. It also allows carmakers to maintain full control over interface design so the digital experience reflects their brand identity.

As the automotive industry shifts toward software-defined vehicles, the partnership aims to strengthen in-car media offerings and provide automakers with tools to deliver personalised digital experiences while opening new opportunities for content distribution and engagement.
