LG adds Prime Video to in-car entertainment platform

LG Electronics has revealed that Prime Video will be integrated into its Automotive Content Platform (ACP) starting in the second quarter of 2026, enabling car manufacturers to offer streaming entertainment directly through vehicle infotainment systems.

The announcement was made during CES 2026 in Las Vegas, where LG demonstrated its webOS-based automotive platform. The system also received a CES Best of Innovation Award, highlighting its growing role in the development of connected in-car experiences.

LG’s ACP is part of the company’s broader AlphaWare software ecosystem, which aims to transform vehicles into connected digital environments. Built on LG’s webOS operating system—already widely used in the company’s smart TVs—the platform has been adapted for automotive use, allowing passengers to access apps and digital services through the vehicle’s infotainment interface.

The platform supports high-resolution video and enhanced in-car audio, designed specifically for the automotive environment. By adding Prime Video to its ecosystem, LG aims to give automakers a ready-to-deploy streaming solution that meets rising demand for premium entertainment and connected services inside vehicles.
