Stellantis Expands Free Connected Services with Standard Remote Start

0

Stellantis is strengthening its connected vehicle offering by adding remote engine start and stop to its standard Connect ONE plan, making the feature available at no additional cost for most 2027 model-year vehicles across its Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, FIAT and Alfa Romeo brands in the United States. The move is part of the company’s broader effort to enhance the ownership experience through software-driven services.

The updated Connect ONE package now bundles remote start alongside existing features such as remote lock and unlock, over-the-air software updates, vehicle health reports, recall notifications and automatic SOS services. By extending these capabilities over a 10-year period, Stellantis is positioning connectivity as a long-term value proposition rather than a premium subscription.

In parallel, the automaker has lowered the monthly price of its Connect Wi-Fi Plus subscription, which includes in-vehicle Wi-Fi, connected navigation and vehicle security services. The pricing adjustment reflects increasing competition among automakers seeking to differentiate their digital ecosystems while reducing barriers to adoption.

The announcement highlights the industry’s shift toward software-defined vehicles, where convenience features delivered through mobile apps have become an increasingly important factor in customer satisfaction. Remote climate preparation and vehicle access are rapidly evolving from premium extras into expected features across connected vehicle platforms.

For Stellantis, expanding its standard connected services reinforces its strategy of building recurring customer engagement beyond the initial vehicle sale. As software capabilities continue to shape the automotive experience, manufacturers are increasingly using connectivity to strengthen brand loyalty while laying the foundation for future digital services.
