Volvo Cars and Geely Auto have signed a memorandum of understanding outlining a new commercial partnership focused on expanding the presence of Lynk & Co across Europe, pending final agreements.
Under the proposed arrangement, Volvo Cars would take on the role of exclusive importer for Lynk & Co vehicles in the region, overseeing both commercial operations and brand development. The plan also includes leveraging Volvo’s established retail network for vehicle sales and aftersales services, creating additional business opportunities for its dealer partners.
The collaboration is designed to strengthen Lynk & Co’s growth ambitions in Europe while allowing Volvo Cars to broaden its market reach. By integrating Lynk & Co into its existing commercial infrastructure, Volvo aims to generate operational efficiencies and benefit from shared scale, while maintaining clear differentiation between the two brands’ target audiences.
Volvo Cars said the agreement would enable it to expand its customer base without requiring additional product investment, while offering Lynk & Co access to a well-established distribution and service network.
Responsibility for Lynk & Co’s global product development, certification and operations outside Europe will remain with its parent company, Geely Auto. The new partnership builds on an existing collaboration between the brands, which already share selected retail locations across European markets.
