Molotov has expanded its connected entertainment offering by launching its streaming application on vehicles equipped with Google’s Android Automotive operating system, bringing live television and on-demand content directly to compatible infotainment systems.
The rollout makes the application available on selected models from automakers including Renault, Alpine, Nissan Motor, Volvo Cars and Polestar, allowing users to access the service directly from the vehicle’s built-in Google Play Store.
Drivers and passengers can enjoy more than 100 live and catch-up television channels, on-demand films and series, cloud-based recordings, and live playback controls while the vehicle is stationary, such as during charging sessions or waiting periods.
The launch reflects the continued evolution of the connected vehicle into a digital entertainment platform. As Android Automotive adoption accelerates across the automotive industry, content providers are increasingly developing native in-car applications that deliver experiences previously limited to smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs.
The in-car release also follows a recent redesign of the Molotov application aimed at delivering faster navigation and a more intuitive user experience across supported devices.
As software-defined vehicles continue to evolve, native media services are becoming an increasingly important component of the digital cockpit, enabling automakers to expand the value of their infotainment ecosystems through premium entertainment partnerships.
